You're the beauty
I'm the beast
You're the fire
I'm words on loose leaf
You're the beginning
And I'm at the end
What I thought was true
Was all pretend
I believed myself everytime I lied
And I cried the day the music died
I lost myself in the music
I lost my voice in the song
I laid my soul bare before you
But it won't be here long
The story ends
The music dies
Yet I have no right to criticize
I sought to join two different worlds
With an ocean in between
I told myself it was possible-
I lied
I cried the day the music died
I lost myself in the music
I lost my voice in the song
I laid my soul bare before you
But it won't be here long
I never found the words to say
My inspiration came too late
You'll never see these words
You'll never know
But for what it's worth I tried
I cried the day the music died
Music was my first love
Now the only one I know
I want to reclaim what you unwittingly stole
This one's for the poet who captured my soul
I suppose this could be set to music, but for now it's just a poem. The whole thing started over a rumor about one of my favorite bands.
